As usual, these have been loaded in chronological order, which means they appear in reverse chronological order. I'll get it right one of these days!
So. Running from the bottom to the top:
1) Where's the pool? Surely if you can find your pool toy, drag it out and get into it all by yourself, then the least you should be able to expect is that someone will produce a pool for you!
2) Iola helping her dad try to figure out how to put together a flat-pack desk with many, many unlabelled pieces using an exploded, non-sequential diagram with nothing to scale. Memories are made of this...
3) Some of the many unlabeled pieces, most of which are almost, but not quite, exactly the same as at least one other piece.
4) This is as far as I got before a rosetta stone-type break through with the instructions made me realise I would have to take the whole thing apart and start again. By this point it was getting mighty warm (the power was out so we had no fans going), so I decided to chuck the project for the day and head off to a buck's night for a Chilean pro soccer player instead.
5) Two days later: Hurrah! A shiny new desk. All it needs now is to have the backing nailed on. And all it cost was twenty dollars Australian and most of my sanity...
6) Iola peering at the world through the window of her own private ball room.
7) Surveying her domain...
This Saturday we're off to meet Jake, Myf and Neiko in Bali, then head over to Gili Meno for snorkeling, banana fritters, beer and bugger all else. Heaven. It's been way too long between proper holidays, and the last year or so has been pretty damn hectic. I think we all need the break.
Photos of a holiday to be jealous of heading your way soon.
